Marta  Cicionesi  is a free lance stage designer for theatre, dance and opera and has realized more than 60 productions in Sweden, Italy, France, India, and USA.
She is also an active librettist and film script writer.
With regard to theatre masks she has worked with Oriental masks, Greek tragedy masks, and has a special interest in the masks and drama of the Japanese Noh-theatre.
She has specialized in creating  sceneries of particular pictorial suggestion, often through painted back drops designed for particular light effects and projections – achieving  images and spaces with a rich atmospheric spectrum. Her profile consists of a personal style that lifts stage to an artistic experience.  
As well as designing, Marta Cicionesi produces all sceneries, costumes and masks.
